Did you know? The Madison Scouts won their second DCI championship in 1988. At the Drum Corps International Finals, Madison was not the top scorer in prelims or semifinals. They surged on finals night and edged out powerhouse corps like Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Devils. This was controversial because Blue Devils were undefeated that year and was forced to perform earlier in the night along with Santa Clara Vanguard due to DCI experimenting with a random draw order, where Madison ended up performing second to last.
