Corps Influence has been added as a new way to measure your corps’ reputation, reach, and success across the activity.
Influence is earned through things like division status, show participation, show placements, DCI Finals medals, and I&E results. The more successful and visible your corps becomes, the more influence it can build over time.
Why Influence Matters
Influence now affects recruiting. As your corps becomes more influential, more staff and members audition or apply to your corps, which gives you more choices to accept when hiring staff or selecting members. This also means that moving forward you will be limited on how many members and staff are applying to your corps. Instead of a pool of hundreds, you might only have 50.
Higher influence does not guarantee elite candidates, but it does increase the size of the hiring pool. You will still need to compare talent, effect, loyalty, salary, price, health, and fit before signing anyone.
Influence is also visible in the drum corps directory, so everyone can see how established each corps has become. The influence points has been back dated!
Souvenir Booth Income
Corps can now earn Souvenir Booth Income after shows. This income is based on your corps’ influence and the day of the show and type of the show. Souvie booths are automatic - as long as you attend a show you will earn money.
Regular shows use the day of the week to determine the souvenir income rate. Major events like DCI Prelims, DCI Semi Finals, and DCI Finals use their own special rates.
The higher your corps influence, the more your corps can earn from souvenir sales after performances.
You can review souvenir booth payouts in Organization Minutes. They will appear in competition entries under: Souvenir Booth Income
This gives corps another reason to build long-term success, compete often, place well, and grow their reputation throughout the season.
